With growing a garden, we started with basically zero knowledge. During the years, Tommy did a lot of research and talked to like-minded farmers. Every year we changed our perspective on how to grow vegetables as naturally as possible.
Six years ago, we started with plastic landscape fabric to keep out the weeds. It worked fine as a weed barrier, but it did not align well with our mindset to grow everything as naturally as possible. Tommy kept going with building his knowledge, and two years ago he got into market gardening. The perfect fit for us.
- no use of plastic in the garden beds to grow the vegetables
- No need for heavy equipment
- No need to till the beds
- easy weed management
We built the garden beds from the ground up, using our homemade compost and wood chips around them.
Our vegetables are free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
